When you walk into a barn to record, you don't necessarily expect to find 25 years of passionately collected gear. Here's a quick tour.
On the microphone side, we work both ways: classic mics, and modeling mics like the ML-1 (Slate Digital) or L22 (Townsend Labs), which can reproduce the character of the most sought-after microphones — without the price tag or the fragility. In practice: we can try ten "mics" on your voice in ten minutes and keep the one that sounds like you.
Same philosophy for preamps: vintage tube and transistor units (ART, Joemeek) when you want colour and grit, or ultra-transparent Midas preamps when you're after absolute fidelity.
And with 24 simultaneous tracks and 4 independent headphone mixes, we can record a full band in live conditions — the energy of a gig, the precision of a studio.
